Despite having a lot in common with Italian cuisine, Sicilian food carries influences of all the different cultures that ruled this land over the last two millennia. Thus making it a unique & mouthwatering blend of French, Arab, Greek, & Spanish flavours.
The menu for our retreat is based on vegetarian recipes, with vegan option upon request, all prepared with organic vegetables directly from the local farmers.
Yoga teacher Elisa Williams accommodates for all levels of students. With yoga we enjoy what our bodies can do & simply work with humility on what it can’t. This means that yogis from beginners to those with more experience can enjoy their practice without feeling they need to compete or be at any particular level.
Mornings will begin with a cup of tea before a varied morning practice which will combine a balanced combination of flowing yoga with some more dynamic yang elements.
There will also be time for guided meditation & pranayama.
Our early evening classes will be more restorative in nature & will also include a number of classes dedicated on the practice of Yin yoga.
Yin yoga is deep & quiet. It relaxes the mind, & helps to balance the energy generated during the Yang practice. During the Yin practice, you will learn how to channel your attention to where you need to rebalance the flow of energy. Like the morning practice I encourage students to embrace a non-competitive approach towards their yoga & their body.
By the end of the week you should be able to sense more space between your joints, more elasticity in the connective tissues & firmer, stronger & longer muscles. More importantly you will discover a quieter, calmer you.
